FREMONT, OH (Toledo News Now) -

As police work to figure out what happened that resulted in a Fremont man's death after a concert in Cleveland, community members gathered to remember and honor Cory Barron.

A vigil for 22-year-old Barron was held Tuesday evening at the Fremont Ross High School. People there said they're doing whatever they can to support each other and remember Barron after the recent tragedy.

"Cory was going to be a difference-maker in this community, in this state, in this country," said Barron's neighbor Mike Dukeshire. "It's a great loss."

With heavy hearts, Barron's family, friends and neighbors held hands and prayed.

"The whole community is in shock, to say the least," said Dukeshire.

Everyone at the vigil showed up for Barron with only a couple hours' notice. They say he was a well-known and well-loved man, who comes from a family with hearts of gold.

Dukeshire says the community members are just doing what they know the Barron family would do for any of them.

"They're a strong family, and they will remain strong, and they will persevere. That's the way the Barron family is," Dukeshire said. "We are going to make sure they persevere."

Another vigil will be held Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Organizers are urging everyone to bring their own candle, and wear purple and white for Cory.

Bowling Green State University Vice President of Student Affairs Jill Carr released the following statement on Barron's death:
