BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A middle school administrator is accused of having sexual conversations on Facebook with a teen girl and exchanging nude photos.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said Edwin Chastang, 42, of Baker, was arrested and charged with computer-aided solicitation of a minor. Chastang is the vice principal of Southeast Middle School in Baton Rouge. Authorities said the girl is a 15-year-old eighth-grader who recently attended the school.
Deputies reported they were contacted by the victim's mother, who told them she opened up Facebook on her cell phone and found her daughter's Facebook account was open and logged-in. The mother reportedly said she saw her daughter and Chastang messaging each other and exchanging nude photos. According to reports, the mother also found that the two had been engaging in sexual conversations.
Deputies said when interviewed by investigators, the girl admitted she used her mother's cell phone late at night to get on Facebook and that she and Chastang were having sexually-charged conversations and exchanging nude photographs. Chastang also reportedly admitted to sending the pictures one night when he was drunk.
Keith Bromery, spokesman for East Baton Rouge Schools, said Chastang was put on paid suspension pending the outcome of the investigation.
