Toledo Police report a man robbed an east Toledo ice cream shop Monday afternoon.

Police have released a surveillance image of the subject, who they say robbed Deb's Soft Kreme at Navarre and White at gunpoint. The subject is described as a white male in his 50s with long, dark hair, which police say may be a wig. He also had dark facial hair and he was wearing a black beanie.

Police say he fled toward Navarre. They also believe the suspect may have been watching the shop for awhile - he hit when there were no customers.

"We are not going to pass judgement on why anyone would have done this," said Brian Simmons, from Deb's Soft Kreme. "We are just happy our staff is safe and hoping our video footage will  hopefully catch this guy."

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Crime Stopper at 419-255-1111. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
