Man faces battery charge after teen suffers fractured skull

PATTERSON, LA (WAFB) - A teenager was hospitalized with a fractured skull after trying to stop a heated argument between a man and woman, according to investigators.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the 16-year-old boy was hit in the head with a glass vase that was allegedly thrown by Charles Elmore, 38, of Patterson.

Elmore was booked on a charge of second-degree battery. No bond was set.

Deputies said they were called to Teche Regional Medical Center early Saturday morning to investigate the incident.

Detectives said the boy suffered a fractured skull, but his current condition was not given.
