Police arrest suspect in Wenonah shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police have arrested the man they say is responsible for a deadly shooting on Wenonah Street Saturday morning.

Tajh Harris, 21, turned himself in after a Crime Stoppers tip around 5 a.m. Thursday morning. He is charged with second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in connection with the death of Javontia Davis, 24.

Around 2 a.m., officers were working traffic control around the 2600 block of Plank Road when gunshots were heard.  They later found the scene at 2600 Wenonah Street where Davis was lying in the street.  He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe that a verbal argument between Davis, Harris, and several others led to the shooting.
