BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - CATS plans to partner with the University of New Orleans to conduct a study on alternative fuels. Board members discussed the issue at Tuesday afternoon’s meeting.
Officials say they are looking to replace 45 buses over the next three years. CATS buses currently run on diesel, but the study would compare fuel sources that would be more cost effective and environmentally friendly.
The estimated cost of the study is $91,000. CATS hopes to secure the funding from various businesses.
