Aid arrives to rebel-held Syrian city

MUADDAMIYA, SYRIA (Radio Free Europe/CNN) - In Syria's rebel-held town of Muaddamiya, the first shipments of humanitarian aid have arrived following a U.N. Security Council resolution that authorized deliveries.

The U.N. resolution says aid groups no longer need Syrian government consent to make deliveries in rebel areas.

The United Nations says more than 10 million people need aid in the war-torn country.

A convoy of cars with aid arrived to the town parts of which were in ruins.

More than 150,000 people have died in the civil war which is in its fourth year.
