BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

With a little more than a week left until the deadline, organizers of the city of St. George said Monday that they have nearly all of the signatures needed to put the measure on a ballot.

One of the effort’s founders, Norman Browning, said his group already has more than 17,000 signatures.

They have until July 23 to reach the more than 18,000 signatures needed to put the measure on the November ballot.

The St. George movement will be the subject of a "Frontline" documentary called "Separate but Unequal."

It will airs at 9 p.m. on PBS.
