BAYOU CORNE, LA (WAFB) - Work has stopped at the Sinkhole in Bayou Corne due to increased levels of seismic activity.
Crews stopped working Wednesday near the sinkhole. Assumption Office of Emergency Preparedness Director John Boudreaux says they are actively monitoring the situation and so far there have been slo sluff in. No word yet on when work will resume.
It's been nearly two years since a massive sinkhole near Bayou Corne and Grand Bayou started bubbling up. More than 350 people have been forced of their homes since August 2012.
