BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Deputies are searching for a suspect who is accused of trying to rob the CVS at 15255 George O'neal Road Thursday morning.

It started just after 9 a.m. Witnesses say a man wearing an orange or red wig walked into the store and handed an employee a note saying he had a weapon and demanded narcotics from the pharmacy. Deputies say no weapon was ever seen.

Officials say the suspect did not get anything from the store, but deputies say he ran out of the store to  a vehicle parked on Autumnwood. The suspect drove off in a silver, mid sized vehicle with no license plate. The vehicle was last seen traveling on Jones Creek Road toward South Harrell's Ferry.

Deputies say the suspect is seen in surveillance video with a dark jacket and a yellow or light colored shirt and dark shoes. He was last seen wearing the wig while driving the vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male, slim build, approximately 5'9 to 5'10, wearing a black jacket, and an orange or red wig, black sunglasses, and dark pants. Deputies say he had a 2"x2" white gauze bandage on the right side of his face. The suspect is also reportedly carrying a blue bag.

If you have any information about this suspect or the crime, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP(7867).
