26-year-old woman charged in deaths of two Iberia Parish employees

NEW IBERIA, LA (WAFB) - A 26-year-old woman has been charged in the death of two Iberia Parish government employees who died during a car accident Monday.

Alicia Mire of New Iberia was traveling east on U.S. 90 South Service Road when she drifted on the shoulder, eventually striking the back of an Iberia parish truck that was parked on the shoulder with its emergency lights on.

The pickup struck the two employees --48-year-old Ross Migues of Lydia and 57-year old Jody Anthony of St. Martinville causing fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead on the scene.

Mire was charged with two counts of negligent homicide, negligent injuring, reckless operation, and no driver’s license. She and her passenger suffered moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital.


She will be booked into the Iberia Parish Jail when she is released from the hospital.
