Tangipahoa inmate back behind bars

AMITE, LA (WAFB) - He's back behind bars.  An inmate facing a murder charge who escaped from Tangipahoa Parish Jail Sunday night was found at a home in Osyka, Misssissippi about 23 miles north of Amite.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said Verdale Moore, 24, of Hammond, was being held on a charge of first degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting.

Moore was arrested after a drive-by shooting that killed Sandra Butler, 37, of Independence, in February.

The sheriff's office has a news conference scheduled Tuesday morning.
