ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA (WAFB) - A man cutting tall grass contacted authorities after discovering a set of skeletal remains Sunday afternoon.
The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating.
Erin Foster, the public information officer for WFPSO, said the remains were found in an overgrown area off Ferdinand Street in St. Francisville, which is near the old ferry landing, around 1 p.m.
Detectives collected evidence from the scene before removing the remains, Foster added.
The bones were taken to LSU's FACES lab to be analyzed.
