Coroner identifies 5-year-old Slidell drowning victim

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

A 5-year-old boy who drowned July 4 in Slidell has been identified.

The boy, Isaac Robinson, died just before 7 p.m. in the 1000 block of McCartney Court, according to St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston.

The boy was pulled from the a swimming pool by a family member who began performing CPR, according to a St. Tammany Fire spokesperson. Police say that St. Tammany Sheriff's Deputies arrived on scene first and continued to administer CPR. Shortly thereafter St. Tammany Fire and EMS crews arrived and took over.

Firefighters continued to assist EMS with CPR while the boy was taken to Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation into this incident continues. We will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.

    A man accused of an attempted armed robbery Thursday night was shot in the process and died early Friday morning, according to investigators. The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Kylin Spencer, 19, died at the hospital from gunshot wounds.
