NEW ORLEANS (WAFB) -

A vigil was held in New Orleans for two men who drowned while tubing in the Amite River earlier in the week.

Family and friends gathered to mourn the losses of Joshua Brantley of Hammond and Phillip White of Marrero, both 26. The attendees lit candles in remembrance of the men.

Livingston Parish officials recovered the bodies hours after friends say they disappeared in the water while on a tubing trip at Tiki Tubing.

Several agencies assisted the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office in the search. Investigators said the two men were eventually found about a half-mile down river from the drop-off area.
