BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are looking for an arsonist that tossed a Molotov cocktail into a home with two people asleep inside.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department said it happened on Tuscarora Street, which is north of Mohican Street just east of I-110.

Investigators said the homeowner reported they were asleep, heard glass breaking and noticed someone had thrown a plastic jug filled with gasoline through the window. The homeowner reportedly added the fire spread quickly.

Firefighters said they arrived on the scene to find flames shooting out from the front bedroom and were able to keep the fire contained to that room because they acted so quickly.

According to reports, one person was in the bedroom when the fire started and the other was in the living room. No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the fire is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
