A DCFS auditor pled guilty to charges of fraud Tuesday.
Corey Polk, 33 of Baton Rouge, admitted to using federal funds for his own personal use.
Polk who was employed by the DCFS Bureau of Auditing and Compliance Services submitted fraudulent reimbursement receipts to receive money for official state travel that didn't occur. Polk says he used the money to pay for hotel suites and other personal uses.
The fake receipts that were submitted were signed by Polk and DCFS Audit Director Delrice Augustus who pled guilty to his involvement in the scheme on May 28. The two split the payments. A third DCFS state auditor, Kaneasha L. Goston, pled guilty June 19.
Polk faces up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
