Baton Rouge girls' soccer team looks to advance in regional tournament

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The matchups on the third day of the 2014 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships will decide which teams move out of the preliminary round.

A total of 96 teams in the 14 classes will head to the quarterfinals after Sunday's action.

In girls' play, BRSC/CSC 96 Alliance (LA) in the Under-18 pool hopes to be one of those teams that continues play in the tournament beyond Sunday.

The team played 95 JASA Coastal Surge (NC) to a 2-2 draw on Saturday and can secure a spot in the quarterfinals with another tie.
