Levee board deadlocked over oil and gas lawsuit

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A motion to kill a flood lawsuit died, when the state levee board deadlocked a 4-4 vote.  The lawsuit is against 97 oil and gas companies.

Governor Bobby Jindal spearheaded a charge and the legislature passed a bill to pave the way to kill the suit.  Governor Jindal is fiercely against the suit. His four newest appointees to the board voted to end the suit, but four others voted against it. One member was absent from the meeting.
