Free grant-writing seminar set for June 25, 26

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A free, two-day grant writing seminar for faith-based groups and community organizations will be held on June 25 and June 26 at BREC headquarters on Florida Boulevard.

The seminar will help organizations secure public funds and obtain corporate and foundation funding. The sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day.

Participants will receive personal instruction from the U.S. Department of Housing and Development (HUD) and Baton Rouge City-Parish staff. They'll learn about grant-writing techniques, how to become more competitive in securing funds, applying for a 501c3 tax-exempt status, common factors used in awarding HUD grants, and much more.

The seminar is free, but you must register to attend as space is limited. The deadline to register is June 23. http://www.hud.gov/emarc/index.cfm?fuseaction=emar.registerEvent&eventId=2111&update=N
