ST. GABRIEL, LA (WAFB) -

Emergency crews were called out to a small fire at a warehouse with chemicals inside early Tuesday morning and they quickly put it out.

Louisiana State Police responded to a fire at Delta Chemical Service on LA 30 in St. Gabriel around 4:30 a.m. Hazmat crews were also called out to the fire.

Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi said there were chemicals inside the warehouse and some of them could be hazardous.

LSP said investigators went inside and had to search to find the fire because it was so small. Officials said the fire was contained to a small box and was quickly put out.

They added there was no damage to any other parts of the building and no chemicals were released due to the fire. Also, no injuries were reported.

There has not been any information released about what caused the fire.

LA 30 was blocked from LA 74 to LA 3115, but was reopened around 5:30 a.m. Drivers should expect slow traffic near the LA 30 Travel Center across from Geigy Road.
