BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Local service men and women were invited to the Capitol as honorees for State Rep. Regina Barrow's 9th annual Flag Day celebration.

The ceremony was held earlier on Saturday. Attendees honored people who currently serve and have served in the past. Rep. Barrow says it is important to remember that our flag is a symbol of the price of freedom.

"We must remember. We can never forget that the cost of our freedom is not free, and this is a way to remember it by remembering our flag. Our flag represents our country," said Rep. Barrow.

The ceremony also honored our elected officials who have previously served in the military.
