Arson suspected in early morning house fire

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge firefighters were called out to an early morning house fire that they believe was set intentionally. The fire took place in the 3900 block of Billups Street, just before 6:00 am Saturday morning.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find smoke coming from the rear of the house.  Once inside they found four spots where there was a noticeable attempt to start a fire.  Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly before it caused major damage.

This fire remains under investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
