LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - More money for the Juban Crossing Development. The Livingston Parish Council approved up to $8.5 million for further expansion of the first phase of the development.
Parish President Layton Ricks says the extra money is necessary because more retail outlets are interested in moving into the center during the early phase. He says he's thrilled to have such a big boost for Livingston Parish.
"I'm just elated because it's going to absolutely change the face of Livingston Parish, and it's going to add some 500 plus permanent jobs and a lot of part time jobs. It will allow jobs for our students who are going to college and high school that need to work part time while they're going to school. They'll be able to do that right here at home in the parish now," Layton says.
More than 400,000 square feet of the retail center are already leased. The first stores are scheduled to open in October.
