NEW IBERIA, LA (WAFB) - A New Iberia woman was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of Medicaid fraud for filing false claims, according to the Louisiana Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
Theresa Clay Guy,38, surrendered to investigators. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Guy, a caregiver hired by Medicaid, is charged with submitting false timesheets to her employers claiming that she simultaneously provided personal care services to two Medicaid recipients at their homes. She submitted them under different names.
If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and pay up to a $20,000 fine.
