BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Several organizations and businesses are being good to BREC right now.

Keep Louisiana Beautiful, the state's top anti-litter and community improvement organization, is awarding the park system a $5,000 grant.

Progressive Waste Solutions is giving BREC recycling dumpsters and plastic barrels will be donated by the Baton Rouge Coca Cola Bottling Company.

These efforts will hopefully keep the Burbank soccer complex clean during the upcoming US Youth Soccer Regional Championships.

However, BREC's efforts are not just about making sure the city looks good.

"One of our main goals is conservation, helping the environment and anything we can do to reduce our footprint," said Cheryl Michelet, director of communications for BREC.

Officials said 3,600 soccer players and 12,000 spectators are expected to attend the region three championships at the soccer complex next week.
