(CNN) - No one will be fired over the accidental outing of a top CIA agent in Afghanistan, according to a White House spokesman.
It happened when President Obama made a surprise Memorial Day weekend visit to Afghanistan.
A list provided to media at the time mistakenly included the name of the CIA's Afghanistan station chief.
The revealing of that name could threaten the agent's ability to operate in secret.
The White House says new procedures will be put in place to prevent a similar error in the future.
