LA employment expected to increase

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana employment rates are predicted to escalate, according to a new forecast from the Louisiana Workforce Commission.

The Investment Council anticipates all eight of the states Metro Regions to outpace the national growth rates in either short term, long term, or possibly both.

Superintendent of Education John White believe that the legislation, which passed this session, will aid educators in preparing students for the growing workforce.

"This MFP version literally doubles the formula and doubles the amount of money when a kid takes a course." Said White.

Industries expected to gain the most jobs through 2022 are computer and mathematics, personal care and service, and healthcare.
