BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Workforce Investment Council (LWIC) shared some good news Tuesday about future employment growth in the state.
The council predicts all eight of the state's metro regions will end up outpacing national growth at some point, whether it be in the short term, long term or possibly even both.
In fact, one official said there does not appear to be any end in sight for job growth in the Bayou State.
State Superintendent of Education John White said thanks to legislation passed this session, educators will be able to better prepare students for the growing workforce.
"This MFP version literally doubles the formula, doubles the amount of money when a kid takes a course," said White.
The industries expected to have the most growth through 2022 include healthcare services, professional and technical services, and food services.
