BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on his third DWI offense after he allegedly caused a crash.
William Bencaz, of Denham Springs, is accused of causing the two-vehicle crash on I-12. It happened at roughly 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8.
The responding officer noted in the probable cause report that Bencaz was having trouble keeping his balance after attempting to walk in a straight line. The officer found Bencaz had two prior DWI arrests in 2011 and 2012 by the Livingston Parish Sheriff's office.
He was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish prison and charged with felony DWI (third offense) and failure to maintain control. He is being held in lieu of a $9,000 bond.
