BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man accused of attacking his former girlfriend and her 12-year-old daughter was arrested on several charges Sunday morning, including aggravated battery and aggravated assault. Police added his dog bit an officer during the arrest.

According to the probable cause report from the Baton Rouge Police Department, Justin Williams, 27, went to his ex-girlfriend's home on Washington Avenue around 7:15 a.m. to visit his children and got into an argument with her.

Williams allegedly punched her, grabbed her by the throat and pushed the back of her head through a bedroom window. Police said the woman's daughter ran in and tried to help by hitting Williams, but he allegedly punched the girl also. Investigators reported at some point during the attack, the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and cut both victims.

They stated Williams then allegedly told his dog to attack his ex-girlfriend, but the woman and her four children and they all ran outside before the "large pit bull" could do so. According to the report, the victims were trying to get into the car when Williams allegedly started punching the woman and girl again.

The woman, the girl and the other three children reportedly then went back inside the home and locked the door, but Williams reportedly kicked it in, knocking the door frame off the wall. Police reported Williams then attacked the 12-year-old girl again, but her mother stepped in and told her to get the young children across the street and call police.

Authorities said the woman then went back outside and got into her vehicle, but Williams allegedly followed and pushed her to the passenger side. They added he then allegedly started the car, drove it into the front concrete steps, backed up and drove off headed down Washington Avenue.

Police said they caught up with the car and while Williams was being detained the dog attacked an officer. They said the dog bit the officer on the back of his leg, which required stitches.

Williams was booked on charges of domestic abuse battery (strangulation), home invasion, aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated battery (2 counts - knife), aggravated assault (4 counts), cruelty to a juvenile and damage to property.

His bond has not been set.
