BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A police lieutenant who retired less than a week ago has been arrested for allegedly getting paid for on-duty hours with the police department and an off-duty security job at the same time.
Dewayne Lee Sr., 52, a former lieutenant with the Baton Rouge Police Department, was arrested Wednesday on charges of public payroll fraud and malfeasance. He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and was released after posting a $6,000 bond.
According to the probable cause report, Lee performed security duties at the Fairfield Medical Clinic on North Foster Drive without permission.
The report pointed out seven days when Lee allegedly worked at the clinic during the same hours he was paid by BRPD for working in the Misdemeanor Follow Up Division.
