ASSUMPTION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Officials are getting an idea of how much damage is left behind after massive flooding throughout Assumption Parish.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office reported dozens of homes at the intersection of LA 402 and LA 403 are taking in water.

Officials said the rain from Wednesday night is running through the neighborhood, rather than draining off elsewhere.

Sheriff Mike Waguespack posted information on his Facebook page about the soy bean fields in the Brusly/St. Vincent area.

He also passed on details about water on various roadways throughout the parish.

He made special mention of LA 70 at Dow Chemical and the intersection of LA 70 and LA 996.

Look for more information later in the day about how the parish is recovering from the flooding.
