ST. JAMES PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Officials in St. James Parish reported their efforts related to the flooding caused by heavy rains has moved into the recovery phase.
The St. James Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness said it has teams out to assess homes, businesses and areas affected by the high water.
Officials reminded residents the parish will still be under a flash flood watch until 7 p.m. on Friday.
They said people can drop off debris at either landfill location or place it at the curb for regular garbage collection.
US 61 at LA 641 is the only roadway in the parish not completely open. It is down to one lane southbound, but reports indicate traffic is flowing.
