LSU's Nola named to Louisville Slugger's All-American team

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams and National Player of The Year were announced Thursday by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

LSU's ace Aaron Nola and Louisiana-Lafayette's second baseman Jace Conrad were both named to the first team.

Nola finished the 2014 season with a 10-1 record, a 1.49 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 109 innings. Earlier this week, Nola was named the SEC's Pitcher of the Year.

Conrad, this year's Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, led the Ragin' Cajuns with a .367 batting average, 19 doubles, 7 home runs and 55 runs batted in.

Kentucky's A.J. Reed was named Collegiate Baseball's National Player of the Year. Reed finished the year with a .351 average, 17 doubles, 23 home runs and 70 runs batted in.

The 17-man first team features 11 conference players or pitchers of the year.
