HENDERSON, LA (WAFB) -

Multiple crashes on I-10 West caused major backups for some drivers for a little while early Wednesday morning.

Traffic officials reported I-10 West was closed at Henderson as a result of several crashes in the area. All lanes were reopened by 4:30 a.m.

The shut down caused problems for drivers on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge trying to get from Baton Rouge to Lafayette.

According to reports, traffic was backed up about five miles at one point.

It is unknown if there were any injuries in the wrecks.
