Red Hot Tigers make big move in this week's baseball polls

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

After a sweep of Auburn and an SEC Tournament Championship, the red hot LSU baseball team has jumped up in this week's polls.

The Tigers moved up from number 14 to number 7 in both the Baseball America Top 25 Poll and Collegiate Baseball Top 30 Poll. LSU is number 5 in ESPN's Top 25, up from number 8.

LSU (44-14-1) will play host to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field beginning at 2 p.m. Friday when the number 1 seed Tigers meet number 4 seed Southeastern Louisiana. Number 2 seed Houston will face number 3 seed Bryant at 7 p.m. Friday in the second game of the four-team regional.

Eight SEC teams made this week's Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball Polls.
