BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Many participants had trouble getting to the first day of the Bayou Country Superfest, but the Capital Area Transit System offered up busses to pick up fans at area hotels. Whether it was the backlogged traffic jam or simply not enough busses being used, many people were left waiting a long time to hitch a ride to the Tiger Stadium.
CATS quickly responded to the problem once they noticed the increase in demand for additional rides. Last year, they carried approximately 300 passengers on the first night; however, this year, that number more than tripled - 1048 passengers by 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
Spokesperson Abby Hannie says CATS is tripling the number of vehicles and supervisors for the rest of the weekend to accommodate riders.
They will also have more vehicles standing by.
