BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Bill Souter is going to this year's Bayou Country Superfest with a heavy heart. In the past year he lost his long time wife.
"My wife was a big fan of his and she passed away so were celebrating her death by coming to see George strait," says Souter.
Bill says he will not be sad when he hears George Strait sing because it reminds him of his wife.
Becky Brown drove down from Bastrop.
"Because they got George strait, Luke Brian, Erich Church, Jason Alden, I can't wait," says Brown.
Jake Breaux brought his two kids up from Morgan City.
"Every year we come. We we get right here on this spot and bring the kids. They enjoy it," says Breaux.
And Laura and her husband are down from Natchitoches.
"We got in last night around midnight. This is the first year they have done a three-night concert. They opened up yesterday at five and we loaded up and got in kind of late. We were enjoying the nice weather and we hope it stays that way," she says.
And she says they will be back again.
"Our fifth year to be here. It's our third year under the oaks. It's a great weekend. We come early and we stay late and have a good time," she added.
