LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - The Lafayette Regional Airport issued an alert to travelers Thursday morning.

Officials said the X-ray machine used for screening is not working.

The malfunction means TSA screenings of passengers are taking a bit longer than usual.

Officials are asking travelers to arrive early to allow for the extra screening time before flights and to be patient, as lines are longer than normal.

They apologized for the inconvenience.
