BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Red Cross was called to help a resident whose home caught on fire Monday morning.
The fire started in the 100 block of Buchanan St. in Baton Rouge just before 11 a.m. and was under control around 11:30 a.m.
Fire fighters arrived at the scene to find the rear of the house engulfed in flames and the fire had extended into the attic. It is estimated that 60 percent of the house was destroyed.
Officials with the Baton Rouge Fire Department say investigators do not expect foul play but they have not determined the cause of the fire.
