Labor Day weekend has a special significance for alligator hunters in Mississippi. A few days into the start of this year's hunting season, a record-setting 756-pound gator was caught by Robert Mahaffey of Brandon in the first weekend of the season.More >>
WILMINGTON, OH (FOX19) -
Police say that an
83-year-old woman's injuries appear to be life-threatening after her vehicle
collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle on State Route 73.
The accident happened
just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday just east of U.S. Route 68.
Officers say that
Gwendolyn McCormick, an 83-year-old woman from Wilmington, was traveling
westbound in the eastbound lanes of State Route 73. Police say that a Chevrolet
Express, driven by 44-year-old Mitchell Davis, was traveling eastbound in the
left lane at the time.
Police say both
vehicles collided head on. McCormick was transported by Care Flight to Miami
Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Davis was transported to Clinton
Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities say both
occupants were wearing seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
