Texans star wide receiver unsure about his future with the franchise

HOUSTON, TX (KTRE) -

The Houston Texans star wide receiver, Andre Johnson, is questioning his future with the team.

After presenting a check to the Houston Area Women's Center Tuesday morning, Johnson said in an interview, "When you've been somewhere for a long time, nobody's been here as long as I have. I've been thinking about things this offseason. Kind of wonder if this is still the place for me."

Johnson is the franchise's all-time leading receiver with 927 receptions for 12,661 yards and 61 touchdowns over the course of 11 seasons. Through those 11 seasons, he's also seen a lot of changes within the organization and been through some tough times.

"Now I'm on my third coach, that's something I give thought to. I just look over my career, is it a place? I've been to the playoffs twice. I think we've only had three winning seasons, two 8-8 seasons. I don't think any player wants to experience that," said Johnson.

The 32-year-old was picked up by the Texans in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft, and now may be the time he decides to make a change.

Johnson said he has no plans to participate in organized team activities at the moment, or any plans to show up at the Texans' mandatory minicamp come June. However, Johnson also stated that he has not asked for a trade.
