BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A teen accused of killing another teen and robbing him pleaded guilty to charges Tuesday morning.

Branikin Jones, 17, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and armed robbery in the shooting death of Daylon Wheeler, 16. Jones was 15 at the time of the shooting, but was charged as an adult.

He was sentenced to 50 years for the armed robbery charge and 40 years for manslaughter. The sentences will run concurrent (at the same time) and without the benefit of probation or parole.

He originally faced a charge of first-degree murder.

Wheeler was shot to death in the Glen Oaks area of Baton Rouge on Nov. 11, 2011.

Authorities said the deadly shooting happened after ongoing feud between the two.

Investigators added Jones shot Wheeler, took a bag of marijuana from him and ran away.
