BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The newly-expanded  Tiger Stadium was the big topic at the Baton Rouge Press Club Monday.

LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva talked about the enormous financial impact that LSU has on the city and state.  He also spoke about the progress being made on the stadium.

"It will bring our attendance to over 100,000," Alleva says.  "There are 1200 to 1500 seats on top for visiting fans."

Visitors will still have some seating in the Southeast end zone, just  not as much.  Alleva says when opposing teams don't bring enough fans, those new upper seats will be available for Tiger fans at a greatly reduced price.  The Tigers first home game will be Sept. 6 against Sam Houston State.
