Authorities said a report of a suspected meth lab sent them to a home and resulted in an arrest on drug charges Saturday afternoon.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Cole Fruge, 30, of Bayou Vista, was taken into custody on charges of manufacturing of Schedule II (methamphetamines), operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Narcotics detectives said they went to a home on Two Sisters Court in Bayou Vista to investigate after receiving the tip about someone possibly making meth.

They reported finding items consistent with the manufacture of meth. They also identified Fruge as the person allegedly trying to make meth.

He was booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail on the above charges. No bond was set.
