Houma burglary suspects arrested, more to come

HOUMA, LA (WAFB) -

Two suspects were arrested in Terrebonne Parish in connection with several vehicle burglaries that happened in the Ellendale and Broadmoor Subdivisions of Houma. 

According to Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, multiple burglaries of unlocked vehicles were reported. Items like GPS, DVD players, purses, handguns, and money were taken.

Jessica Loree Maritnez, 29, of Bull Run Rd IN Schriever and Devin Michael Toups, 22, of Steer Run Court in Schriever were arrested on several burglary and theft charges.

Martinez faces 6 counts of simple burglary of a vehicle and theft under $500.  Her bond was set at $25,000. Toups faces seven charges of simple burglary of a vehicle and 2 counts of theft under $500. His bond was set at $50,000.

Many of the stolen items have been recovered by detectives. Officials say more arrests are subject to follow and this case remains under investigation.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter encourages residents of Terrebonne Parish to lock the doors on their vehicles at all times and report any suspicious activity to the Sheriff's Office immediately at (985) 876-2500.
