Dozens of friends and family gathered at the home of former LSU running back Jeremy Hill to watch the 2014 NFL Draft.

Excitement was in the air as everyone patiently waited for Hill's name to be called. The aroma of food filled the air, as platters of fruit and finger foods were constantly brought in for the festivities.

Lisa Hill, the mother of the draft prospect, said the event had been a long time coming.

"Ever since the third grade, taking him to practices, it is his lifelong dream," she said. "It's been a journey."

Everyone was having a good time, until Hill's cell phone suddenly rang. His face was filled with emotion, as it was a call from the Cincinnati Bengals informing him that he will be taking his football talents to Ohio.

"It has been an amazing journey, so many life lessons learned," said Jeremy Hill. "There was so many people that have been involved. To have most of those people here is just a blessing."

Hill was one of five LSU football players selected in the first two days of the draft.
