Mom’s Favorite Artichoke Bread

Yields: 1 Loaf


This Mother's Day, let the kids show their appreciation for mom by making this easy to prepare cheesy artichoke bread. She'll love it.


1 (14-ounce) can marinated artichoke hearts, drained well and chopped

1 loaf French bread

¼ cup butter

2 tbsps minced red bell pepper

2 tbsps minced yellow bell pepper

6 cloves garlic, peeled and thinly sliced

2 tbsps chopped parsley

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsps seasoned Italian bread crumbs

½ cup sour cream

salt and black pepper to taste

granulated garlic to taste


Preheat oven to broil. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add bell peppers, sliced garlic and parsley then sauté 1–2 minutes or until fragrant. Add artichoke hearts, mozzarella cheese, Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs and sour cream, stirring to blend well. Season lightly to taste using salt, pepper and granulated garlic. When completely combined, remove from heat. Slice French bread loaf lengthwise then spoon artichoke mixture evenly onto bread. Broil, open faced, 4–7 minutes or until cheese has melted and bread is thoroughly heated. Cut into individual portions and serve hot as an appetizer.
