Man arrested for burglarizing paralyzed man's house

THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - A 26-year-old Thibodaux man is being held on a $100,000 bond after being charged with burglarizing the home of a paralyzed man.

According to Thibodaux Police Chief Scott Silverii, the victim returned to his house around 8:30 a.m. on May 2, 2014 to find that it was being burglarized. The suspect ran from the house taking various prescription medications.

The scene was processed for evidence and a warrant for the arrest of Sherrick Every was issued.

Two days later, Thibodaux Police Officers saw Every on a porch. When Every saw the officers, he ran into the home, but quickly surrendered to police.

He was taken to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is being charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
